Engr Steve Olumuyiwa – Profile

Born on August 3rd, 1951, Engr. Steve Olumuyiwa (formerly known as Steve Okitika) is a professional Electrical Engineer and businessman called to be a servant of God by prophecy. He was trained in ministry by a British Missionary – Pastor S. G. Elton, who lived and ministered in Nigeria for 50 years. Steve who met the Lord in 1973, during the revival of the seventies, became involved in active intercession, deliverance, and spiritual warfare in his days as president of the then University of Ife Evangelical Christian Union in 1976. He met his wife Remi in this period of ministry and they got married in 1978. From that time, he has taught, ministered and been part of corporate intercession and spiritual warfare all over Nigeria and in about 20 other nations, spanning four continents of the world. His peculiar experiences in spiritual warfare and its impact in the workplace helped Steve become one of the early advocates for marketplace believers to be Ministers in the marketplace as a call to fulltime ministry.

He was part of the founding leadership of Intercessors for Nigeria and Intercessors for Africa and currently serves as the West Africa Coordinator of the Intercessors for Africa Prayer network and as the Continental Chairman of the Africa Kingdom Business Forum, the market place initiative of Intercessors for Africa.

Professionally, Steve Olumuyiwa is an Electrical Engineer who has been active in the Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry (NESI) since 1970 when he joined the Niger Dams Authority as a Hydro Power Plant Operator at the then new Kainji Hydro plant.

Steve from those early years has trained in several European and American Power Utilities and Institutions, which exposure and training has enabled him serve in varying capacities in Nigeria. He has also served in factory certification visitation of factories in China, Europe and South Africa which seek to be involved in producing various Power Industry components for use in Nigeria, in addition to post manufacture Factory Acceptance Test certification for products to be exported for use in the Nigeria Electricity Industry.

He is currently an engineering consultant on contract employment by Niger Delta Power Holding Company (NDPHC) in the National Integrated Power Projects (NIPP) of the Government of Nigeria where he helps to provide Advisory roles to the Executive Management in their implementation of critical Transmission line and Substation construction projects in Nigeria.

Prior to this he had served as a Special Technical Assistant to the Honourable Minister of State for Power in Nigeria where he served in Policy formulation and other governmental initiatives for the Nigerian Power Sector. He also served as a member of the Energy Thematic group of the Nigerian Vision 20:2020 committee for long term policy formulation in Nigeria

Steve is an Overhead Power Transmission Line Design specialist and is the Nigeria Country Representative for Power Lines Systems Inc. under which roles he has trained several Engineers working in engineering design roles within the Nigerian Power Infrastructure Construction Industry over the past 13 years.
Steve is married to Remi, and they are now grandparents, having successfully and properly raised two adult children who are now raising their own families and positively impacting their world in different nations
